Planting Trees of Drama with Global Vision in Local Knowledge: IDEA 2007 Dialogues

A collection of peer reviewed eassys procceding from the IDEA 2007 World Congress. The emphasis on the conversion between the global and the local is important for us, as Hong Kong is always, for a century and a half, shifting and drifting between, or below, the two. The main content of the book is divided into three sections: Cultures and Communities, Learning and Curriculum, and Teaching and Researching. Adopting the phenomenological approach of structiuring our subjective narrative with correspondence to the worldly narrative, we are recognizing the synchronization between tge global trend and the local tendency. The book is thus, starting from a local point of view, suggesting a structure pieced together by more than thirty global visions. When you read along, we invite you to relate them to your own context and find your own loacl echo of the structure.

【 Lesson Plan 】An Example of Drama in English Language Teaching |TEFOZine #3

Hence, speaking is their weakest aspect in language learning. Also, writing is one of the least welcome tasks as students always complain that they have no ideas to write and actually in my opinion, they don' t have any authentic reasons to write.

【 Research 】Performance, Learning, Heritage – How Well Do They Mix?| TEFOZine #3

This paper summarizes and reflects upon a research project, based in Manchester, that has investigated an area of performance practice that has been developing and expanding in a remarkable variety of ways over the past two decades and yet is still relatively unrecognised and certainly under-researched. Often referred to as 'museum theatre' or 'live interpretation' or 'living history' (Bridal 2004, Hughes 1998 , Roth 1998), none of which adequately captures the characteristics or varieties of the medium, it is also a contested practice and the debate about its value and relevance are often heated.
